This area is known for a consistent climate and their rugby team. But, the city of Auckland also has a booming nightlife and what better place to get started than a local bar. Here are the best bars in Auckland.

Lime: For some of the best cocktails in the city look no farther than Lime. The quiet, intimate atmosphere is perfect for a date or a few drinks before heading out to a club. The sweet liquor in a fancy-shaped glass makes for the perfect drink at this local bar.

Lenin Bar: This Russian bar offers not only excellent cocktails, but a good beer selection to choose from as well as wine and spirits. As the night progresses, there is a dance floor that can get packed by midnight. This is the perfect place to come early and stay late.

Chapel Bar & Bistro: This relaxed bar offers a laid back environment to enjoy a good drink and listen to some excellent music. The company here is better than anywhere else and the bartenders are very friendly.

Union Post Brewbar: Lodged in a building that was established as a post office in the early 1900's, this bar is equipped with a front garden bar to relax in the summer and a rear courtyard in the back. Enjoy a beer or cold drink in the private room also.

Dogs Bollix Irish Bar: Located in the directly in the center of Auckland, this bar is known for great pub food and its excellent selection of beers and spirits. This is the perfect bar to come to for some great live music. Aucklanders are known for their love of live music and this is their favorite bar to sample it.

Julep: This brand new funk bar on the always busy Ponsonby Road is known to have some excellent cocktails. This is just one bar on the road in the never-ending strip of bars. It is the perfect spot to meet with friends and start off a night on Ponsonby Road.

Mea Culpa: Also located on Ponsonby Road, this bar is a little more intimate than most of the others. It has a rustic interior and like many of the other bars on the strip, it offers great cocktails and liquor in a fancy shaped glass.

Bonita: This small Spanish bar is authentic and serves sangria and tapas bistro style. It is also located on Ponsonby Road and is one of many places to stop along the street to hear some real Latin music.

in between your pre-game, and the real party, grab a bite at one of the area's famous restaurants.
